Lillian Nordica (December 12, 1857 Farmington-May 10, 1914 Jakarta) was an American singer.

Lillian Nordica was born Lillian Norton in Farmington, Maine, and showed an early talent for singing. She started her career as an opera singer in Europe, where she gained recognition for her powerful soprano voice. She made her debut in Italy in 1887, and went on to perform in opera houses throughout Europe, including the Royal Opera House in London and the Bayreuth Festival in Germany.
Nordica became a favorite of composer Richard Wagner, who wrote the role of Elsa in his opera "Lohengrin" specifically for her. She also sang the role of Brünnhilde in Wagner's "Ring" cycle.
In addition to her opera career, Nordica was also a successful concert singer. She performed throughout the United States and Europe, and was known for her interpretations of works by Schumann, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky.
Nordica was a pioneer in the early recording industry, and several of her recordings have been reissued on CD. She was also known for her philanthropy, and established a school of music in her hometown of Farmington. Nordica was traveling on a concert tour in Southeast Asia when she died suddenly in Jakarta in 1914.
