Arthur Edmund Carewe (December 30, 1884 Trabzon-April 22, 1937 Santa Monica) a.k.a. Hovsep Hovsepian, Arthur Carew, Arthur E. Carew, Arthur Carewe, Arthur Edmund Carew or Arthur Edmond Carew was an Armenian actor.

He died in suicide.

Carewe was born in Trabzon, Turkey in 1884 to Armenian parents and immigrated to the United States at a young age. He began his career as a stage actor and eventually moved into silent films in the 1910s, often playing dashing romantic leads. He appeared in over 70 films, including notable roles in "The Phantom of the Opera" (1925), "The Cat and the Canary" (1927), and "The Ace of Cads" (1926).

Despite his success in film, Carewe struggled with personal demons and suffered from depression. In 1937, at the age of 52, he took his own life in his Santa Monica home. Though his life was cut short, his legacy lives on as a pioneer of early cinema and a talented actor of his time.
