Paula Wessely was born into a family of actors, with her father being a theater director and her mother an actress. She began her career in theater at a young age and went on to become one of the most beloved actresses in Austrian film and theater history.

Lilia Skala (November 28, 1896 Vienna-December 18, 1994 Bay Shore) a.k.a. Lila Skala, Lilia Sofer, Lilia Skalla or Lillia Skalla was an Austrian actor.

Skala began her acting career in Vienna in the 1920s, performing in both theater and film. She fled Austria in 1938 with her husband and two children to escape the Nazi regime and emigrated to the United States. Skala continued to act on stage, film and television in the US, and was nominated for an Academy Award for her supporting role in the 1963 film "Lilies of the Field". She also appeared in popular TV shows such as "The Twilight Zone" and "ER". Outside of her acting career, Skala was an accomplished writer, painter, and sculptor. She passed away at the age of 98 in Bay Shore, New York.
