Ruslan Salei (November 2, 1974 Minsk-September 7, 2011 Yaroslavl) otherwise known as Rusty was a Belarusian ice hockey player.

He played as a defenseman in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 16 seasons, during which he played for teams such as the Anaheim Ducks, Florida Panthers, and Detroit Red Wings. Salei was known for his physical defense style and his determination and loyalty to his team. He was also a member of the Belarusian national ice hockey team, representing his country in four Winter Olympics and numerous international tournaments. Tragically, he died in the plane crash of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the Kontinental Hockey League in 2011, along with his entire team and coaching staff.

Aleh Byabenin

Aleh Byabenin (April 5, 1974 Minsk-September 3, 2010 Minsk) was a Belarusian journalist.

He graduated from the Belarusian State University's School of Journalism and worked as a reporter for several newspapers, including Narodnaya Volya and BelGazeta. Byabenin also co-founded the online news portal Charter 97, which has been critical of the Belarusian government. He was known for his investigative journalism and coverage of political protests in Belarus. Byabenin's death in 2010 was initially ruled a suicide by authorities, but many activists and journalists believe he was murdered for his work. The case remains unsolved.
