He moved onto the Lille OSC academy at 16 years old and signed his first professional contract. Malanda played for various teams in Belgium before moving to Germany in 2014 to play for the VfL Wolfsburg club. Tragically, Malanda's life was cut short at just 20 years old, after he was involved in a fatal car accident on the way to the airport to meet his team for a training camp.
