Drago Mestrovic

Drago Mestrovic (April 16, 1943 Sarajevo-March 4, 2010 Zagreb) was a Bosnian actor.

He began his career in the 1960s and appeared in dozens of films, TV shows and theater productions throughout his career. Some of his notable roles include his portrayal of Aleksandar Tirnanic in the TV series "Velo misto" and his role in the film "Variola Vera", which won Best Film at the Cannes Film Festival in 1982. Mestrovic was also a successful theater director and playwright, and was a founder of the Theater Tirena in Zagreb. He was honored with numerous awards and recognitions for his contributions to the arts. Mestrovic passed away in March 2010 at the age of 66.

In addition to his success in acting and theater, Drago Mestrovic was also deeply involved in politics. He was a member of the Democratic Party of Croatia and served as a city councilor in Zagreb from 1990 to 1994. Mestrovic also ran for mayor of Zagreb in 1997, but was unsuccessful in his bid.
