Chas Chandler (December 18, 1938 Heaton, Newcastle-July 17, 1996 Newcastle General Hospital) also known as Bryan "Chas" Chandler, Bryan James Chandler, Chandler, Bryan "Chas", Bryan James "Chas" Chandler or The Animals was a British musician, record producer, talent manager, bassist, songwriter, actor, film producer and singer. His children are Steffan Chandler, Alex Chandler, Elizabeth Chandler and Katherine Chandler.

Genres he performed include Pop music, Rhythm and blues, Psychedelic rock and Rock music.

Chandler was best known for discovering and managing the legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix. The two met in New York City in 1966, and Chandler signed Hendrix to his first recording contract. Chandler also played bass in The Animals, a British rock band that had several hits in the 1960s, including "House of the Rising Sun." After leaving The Animals, Chandler focused on managing and producing other musicians, including Slade and Nick Drake. In addition to his work in the music industry, Chandler was also involved in acting and film production. He appeared in the 1973 film "That'll Be the Day" and produced the 1987 movie "The Killing Time." Chandler passed away in 1996 at the age of 57 due to aneurysm.
