Evelyn Ankers was born in Chile but grew up in England, where she began her acting career in repertory theater. She soon moved to Hollywood and became a popular actress during the 1940s, known for her roles in horror and suspense films. Some of her most famous roles include Gwen Conliffe in "The Wolf Man" (1941), Lisa Bowen in "Hold That Ghost" (1941), and Gina Morelli in "The Invisible Man's Revenge" (1944). Ankers retired from acting in the early 1950s after marrying and having children, but she remained a beloved figure in Hollywood and among horror movie fans throughout her life.
