Chau-shui Yee was known for his roles in martial arts films, particularly during the golden era of Hong Kong cinema in the 1960s and 1970s. He began his acting career in 1949 and appeared in over 80 films throughout his career. Some of his most notable films include "The One-Armed Swordsman" and "The Sword and the Lute".

Aside from acting, Chau-shui Yee was also a renowned martial artist and stuntman. He was known for performing his own stunts in films and for his expertise in various martial arts such as Tai Chi and Wing Chun. In 1955, Chau-shui Yee tragically passed away due to an accident on set while filming "Empress Wu Tse-Tien".
