Crox Alvarado (May 3, 1910 San José-January 30, 1984 Mexico City) also known as Cruz Pio del Socorro Alvarado Bolano or Croz Alvarado was a Costa Rican actor, screenwriter, wrestler and cartoonist.

He began his career in the entertainment industry as a cartoonist and later moved on to acting. Alvarado appeared in over 150 films throughout his career, often playing the role of a villain. He also worked as a screenwriter and wrote scripts for several films. In addition to his work in film, Alvarado was also a professional wrestler and was known for his signature move, the "Cruzifix Armbar." He was inducted into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame in 2001. Despite his success in Mexico, Alvarado remained proud of his Costa Rican heritage and often promoted his home country in his work.
