He began his career as an actor in 1958 when he appeared in the film "Cierna labut/The Black Swan". He went on to establish himself as one of the most prominent actors in Croatia, starring in numerous films, TV series, and theater productions. Some of his most notable film roles include "Seljacka buna 1573/The Peasant Revolt" (1975), "Tito i ja/Tito and Me" (1992), and "Otac na sluzbenom putu/When Father Was Away on Business" (1985), which won the prestigious Palme d'Or award at the Cannes Film Festival. In addition to his work as an actor, Dabetic also served as the director of the Zagreb Youth Theater from 1990 to 1999. He passed away in 2003 due to a heart attack at the age of 65.
