Vera Galatíkova started her acting career in the early 1960s, appearing in several theatrical productions in Czechoslovakia. She then transitioned to film, starring in over 50 movies, including "Loves of a Blonde" (1965) and "The Firemen's Ball" (1967), both directed by Milos Forman.

Galatíkova was known for her versatility as an actress, playing a wide range of characters from comedic to dramatic roles. Her talent was recognized with numerous awards, including the Czech Lion award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in 1999 for her performance in "Loners".

Aside from acting, Galatíkova was also a successful writer, publishing several books throughout her career. She was also an advocate for animal rights, supporting various animal welfare organizations.
