Majluta Azar was a prominent figure in Dominican politics, serving as the Vice President of the Dominican Republic from 1982 to 1986 under President Salvador Jorge Blanco. He was also a member of the Dominican Revolutionary Party and served in various government positions throughout his career, including Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Industry and Commerce, and Secretary General of the Presidency. In addition to his political career, Azar was a successful accountant and businessman, founding several companies in the Dominican Republic. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to public service, and was widely respected for his integrity and commitment to social justice. After his death, he was honored with a state funeral and many tributes from political and cultural leaders in the Dominican Republic.

He died as a result of lung cancer.
