Jules Croiset

Jules Croiset (October 9, 1937 Deventer-) also known as Julien Gustave Croiset is a Dutch actor. He has two children, Niels Croiset and Vincent Croiset.

Croiset has had a prolific career in Dutch theatre, film, and television. He graduated from the Amsterdam Theater School in 1960 and made his stage debut with the Nederlandse Comedie in 1962. Some of his most notable theatre performances include his portrayal of King Lear in William Shakespeare's play in 1992 and his role as Willy Loman in Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman" in 1999.

Croiset's film career began in the 1960s with minor roles in Dutch films. He gained international recognition for his portrayal of Jewish psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor Dr. Louis J. West in the 1978 NBC mini-series "Holocaust" for which he won an Emmy Award. He has appeared in several other international productions including "The Wilby Conspiracy" (1975) and "Reilly: Ace of Spies" (1983).

In addition to his work in theatre and film, Croiset has also been a regular face on Dutch television. He has appeared in several TV series, including "Medisch Centrum West" (1988-1994) and "Pleidooi" (1993-1996).
