Baligh Hamdi (October 7, 1932 Shubra-September 17, 1993 Cairo) also known as Baligh Hamdy or Baligh Abdel Hamid Hamdy Saad Eddine was an Egyptian singer-songwriter, composer and film score composer.

He was best known for his collaborations with legendary Egyptian singer Abdel Halim Hafez, with whom he wrote some of the most well-known Arabic songs of the 20th century, including "Sawah" and "Mawood." Hamdi also composed music for over 350 Egyptian films and worked with other Egyptian music icons such as Warda Al-Jazairia and Shadia. He was a pioneer in incorporating Western musical elements into Arabic music and is considered one of the most influential composers in the Arab world. In addition to his work in music, Hamdi studied law and wrote poetry.
