Chris Curtis
Chris Curtis (August 26, 1941 Oldham-February 28, 2005 Liverpool) otherwise known as Chris Crummy was an English drummer and singer.
He began his career in the 1960s with the band The Searchers, which he joined as their drummer in 1964. With The Searchers, Curtis achieved great success with hits like "Needles and Pins" and "Love Potion No. 9." Curtis was known for his distinctive drumming style, which involved using brushes and mallets as well as sticks.
After leaving The Searchers in 1966, Curtis went on to form his own band, Roundabout. They released several singles, but failed to achieve the same level of success as The Searchers. Curtis then focused on songwriting and producing, working with artists such as Deep Purple and Paul McCartney.
Curtis struggled with mental illness throughout his life and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in the 1970s. He passed away in 2005 at the age of 63 due to complications from pneumonia.
