Burl Ives

Burl Ives (June 14, 1909 Jasper County-April 14, 1995 Anacortes) also known as Brul Ives, Burle Icle Ivanhoe Ives, The Singing Troubadour Burl Ives, Burl Icle Ivanhoe Ives or Burt Ives was an American singer, actor, writer, voice actor and author. He had four children, Alexander Ives, Steven Paul, Stuart Paul and Bonnie Paul.

Burl Ives was born in Jasper County, Illinois and grew up in a family of farmers. He began his career as a singer in the 1930s and gained popularity for his performances of folk songs. Throughout his career, Ives continued to sing and record traditional folk songs, as well as contemporary songs and children's music. He also appeared in numerous films and television shows throughout his career, including the classic Christmas movie "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer", in which he voiced the character of Sam the Snowman.

In addition to his singing and acting careers, Ives was also a prolific author, writing several books on topics such as folklore and sailing. He was also known for his political activism and his support of progressive causes, including the Civil Rights Movement. Ives passed away in 1995 at the age of 85 in Anacortes, Washington.

Jack Wild

Jack Wild (September 30, 1952 Royton-March 1, 2006 Tebworth) was an English singer and actor.

He rose to prominence as a child actor, playing the role of the Artful Dodger in the 1968 film adaptation of Oliver!. He received an Academy Award nomination for his performance at age 16, becoming the youngest actor at that time to receive such recognition. Wild went on to star in several other films and television shows, including the TV series H.R. Pufnstuf. However, he struggled with alcohol and drug addiction in his adult years and eventually became homeless. He later turned his life around and became a drug and alcohol counselor. Wild died in 2006 at the age of 53 from mouth cancer.

Gordon MacRae

Gordon MacRae (March 12, 1921 East Orange-January 24, 1986 William Jennings Bryan House) a.k.a. Albert Gordon MacRae was an American singer and actor. He had five children, Meredith MacRae, Heather MacRae, Robert Bruce McRae, Gar MacRae and Amanda MacRae.

MacRae was born to parents who were both accomplished musicians, and he started singing and performing at a young age. His big break came in 1943 when he auditioned for the wartime radio show "Camel Caravan" and was chosen as one of the regular performers. This led to a contract with Warner Bros. and a successful career in Hollywood, starring in films such as "Oklahoma!" and "Carousel."

In addition to his film career, MacRae was a popular singer, recording many albums and appearing on various TV shows. He also had a successful run on Broadway, starring in the musicals "Guys and Dolls" and "The Student Prince."

MacRae's personal life was not without its challenges. He struggled with alcoholism for much of his life and was arrested several times for driving under the influence. He also had a tumultuous relationship with his first wife, Sheila MacRae, which ended in divorce in 1967.

Despite these challenges, MacRae remained a beloved and talented performer until his death in 1986 from pneumonia.
