Fred Panopio became popular in the 1970s for his unique style in singing folk songs with a husky voice. He was one of the most recognized faces and voices among Filipino folk musicians. He was also known for his role as a comedian in various Filipino movies during the 1980s. In 1976, his song "Anak" became a huge hit and garnered him an international recognition. He received numerous awards including the Metro Pop Song Festival Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. He continued to perform until his death in 2010.

Roy Alvarez

Roy Alvarez (March 23, 1950 Pagbilao-February 11, 2014 Quezon City) a.k.a. Leandro Delantar Alvarez was a Filipino actor, screenwriter, film director and television director.

He initially pursued a career in architecture but shifted to acting, eventually becoming one of the most respected actors in Philippine cinema and theater. Some of his notable acting roles include "Macho Dancer" (1988), "Misis mo, misis ko" (1988), and "Minsan lang kita iibigin" (1994). He also wrote and directed films, such as "Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo" (1980) and "Maalaala Mo Kaya: The Movie" (1994). Additionally, he was a member of various theater groups, including Tanghalang Pilipino and the Philippine Educational Theater Association. He passed away at the age of 63 due to a heart attack.
