Elis Sella started his acting career in theater, particularly in the Helsinki City Theatre. He then moved on to work in film and television, where he appeared in numerous Finnish productions. Some of his notable roles include the character of Niilo Tarvajärvi in the TV series "Kohtauksia eräästä avioliitosta" (Scenes from a Marriage) and the role of Eero in the film "Maa on syntinen laulu" (The Earth Is a Sinful Song).

Aside from acting, Sella was also a trained cantor and sang in the Helsinki Synagogue choir. He was known for his deep, rich voice and his love for music.

He started his career in the film industry as an actor in the 1930s and later went on to become a prolific film director, directing over 30 films in his career. Salminen also worked as a film art director and screenwriter, contributing to the creation of many Finnish classics.

Some of his most notable works include "Särkelä itte" (1955), "Nuorena nukkunut" (1960), and "Niskavuoren naiset" (1958). He also acted in several films, including "Toivelauluja" (1947) and "Villi Pohjola" (1955).

Töyri began his career in the film industry in the 1940s as a cinematographer, working on several films before transitioning to directing in the 1950s. He also served as the manager of Suomi-Filmi, one of Finland's leading film studios at the time. Alongside his work in the film industry, Töyri was also involved in the Finnish resistance movement during World War II, serving as a radio operator for the Finnish military.
