Arkadi Khintibidze

Arkadi Khintibidze (January 8, 1898 Georgia-August 4, 1963 Tbilisi) also known as A. Khintibidze was a Georgian actor, screenwriter and film director.

He began his career in theater and made his debut in film in 1923, acting in the silent movie "Gza da zghira" ("Sun and Small"). In the 1930s, Khintibidze established himself as a filmmaker, directing several Georgian-language films including "Keto and Kote" (1948), "Magdana's Donkey" (1956), and "Alaverdoba" (1962). He was also a prolific screenwriter, penning scripts for many of his own films as well as for other Georgian directors. Khintibidze was honored as a People's Artist of Georgia in 1953 and was posthumously awarded the Shota Rustaveli State Prize for his contributions to Georgian cinema.

In addition to his work in film and theater, Khintibidze was also an accomplished writer and translator.
