Minna Planer (September 5, 1809 Oederan-January 25, 1866 Dresden) also known as Christine Wilhelmine "Minna" Planer or Minna Wagner was a German actor. She had one child, Nathalie Einsiedel.
She died in myocardial infarction.
Minna Planer was best known for her significant association with the composer Richard Wagner. She began her acting career in small provincial theatres in Germany and Switzerland. In the 1830s, she met Richard Wagner and they fell in love. They got married in 1836 in a tumultuous wedding where Minna's father was absent amidst disagreements over his daughter's choice of husband.
Minna was known to be a supportive force in Wagner's life, often taking on multiple roles to support their household financially. However, their relationship was plagued with problems, including Wagner's infidelities and financial difficulties. They eventually divorced in 1861.
Minna continued acting and performed in many of the premieres of Wagner's operas, including the title role in the world premiere of his opera "Rienzi." She remained close to Wagner despite their divorce and was with him during his last moments before his death in 1883.
