Aulinger was known for her versatility and talent as an actor, playing a wide range of roles from comedic to dramatic. Despite her success, she continued to perform in theatre throughout her career. Aulinger was married to fellow actor Rudolf Lettinger and they had a son together named Gerhard. She passed away in 1965 at the age of 83 in Munich.

She was honored with numerous awards, including Germany's highest civilian honor, the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, in 1953.
