Judith Burmeister is a German former competitive swimmer. She was born on September 22, 1986, in Neubrandenburg, Germany. Burmeister started swimming when she was just four years old and quickly showed her potential as a future professional swimmer. Throughout her career, she won several titles and set numerous records, both nationally and internationally. She specialized in backstroke and butterfly events, where she excelled due to her exceptional technique and strength. Burmeister competed in two consecutive Olympic games in 2004 and 2008, where she represented Germany and reached the finals in her respective events. After retiring from professional swimming in 2010, she became a swimming coach and motivational speaker, helping to inspire future generations of swimmers.

Burmeister competed in many major international competitions, including the World Championships and European Championships. She won several gold medals at the European Championships and set a new world record in the 100m backstroke in 2006. Burmeister was also a six-time German national champion and was recognized as the German Sportswoman of the Year in 2006. Outside of swimming, Burmeister studied German linguistics and literature at the University of Potsdam. She also worked as a sideline reporter for German television during the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
