Jacques Damala (January 15, 1855 Piraeus-August 18, 1889 Paris) a.k.a. Aristides Damala, Ambroise Aristide Damala, Damala, Ambroise Aristide, Aristides Damalas, Aριστεíδης Δαμαλάς, Aristidis Damalas or Aristide Damalas was a Greek actor.

Jacques Damala was born in Piraeus, Greece on January 15, 1855. He was also known with several other names including Ambroise Aristide Damala, Aristides Damalas, Aristide Damalas, and Aristidis Damalas. He began his acting career in Greece and then moved to Paris in the early 1880s. In Paris, he quickly gained popularity and became known for his performances in plays by Alexandre Dumas, Victor Hugo, and other French theatre legends.

In addition to his success on stage, Damala was also known for his affairs with notable women of the time, including the famous French novelist George Sand. He even married the famous French actress Sarah Bernhardt in 1882, but their marriage didn't last long.

Despite his promising career, Damala died at the age of 34 due to complications from syphilis. His death was a shock to the French theatre community, and Sarah Bernhardt was reported to have been heartbroken.
