Alexandrakis began his acting career in the 1950s and appeared in over 100 films throughout his lifetime. He was known for his work in Greek cinema and was widely regarded as one of the top actors of his generation. In addition to his work on screen, Alexandrakis was also a successful theater actor and director. He directed and acted in many popular stage productions throughout Greece.

Throughout his career, Alexandrakis won numerous awards for his contributions to Greek cinema, including the Best Actor award at the Thessaloniki Film Festival for his performance in the film "Stella" in 1956.
