He had five children, Akbar Hussain Rizvi, Asghar Hussain Rizvi, Zil-e-Huma, Syed Shahenshah Hussain Rizvi and Syed Ali Mujtaba Rizvi.
Shaukat Hussain Rizvi began his career in the film industry as an assistant film editor in the 1930s. He later went on to become a successful film editor and worked on several notable films such as Pukar (1939), Naya Sansar (1941) and Sikandar (1941). Rizvi made his directorial debut with the film Shahjahan (1946), which became a box-office success and helped establish him as a leading director in the industry.
