Yossi Yadin

Yossi Yadin (July 7, 1920 Jerusalem-May 17, 2001 Tel Aviv) also known as Joseph Sukenik, Yoseph Yodin, Yoseph Yadin or Yosef Yadin was an Israeli actor.

Yossi Yadin was born to a Jewish family in Jerusalem and grew up in Tel Aviv. He studied at the Hebrew Gymnasium high school in Jerusalem and later on at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in the same city. After completing his studies, he joined the Palmach, the Israeli paramilitary group, and fought in the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.

After the war, Yadin began his acting career at the Cameri Theater in Tel Aviv. He appeared in several notable plays, including "The Threepenny Opera" and "The Good Person of Szechwan". In the 1960s, he became a television personality, hosting a weekly program called "The World According to Yossi Yadin".

Yadin also appeared in several Israeli films, including "Hill 24 Doesn't Answer" and "Ephraim Returns to the Army". He was awarded the Israel Prize for Drama in 1999 for his contributions to Israeli theater.

Aside from his acting career, Yadin was also involved in politics. He served as a member of the Tel Aviv City Council and was a member of the left-wing political party Meretz.

Yossi Yadin passed away at the age of 80 in Tel Aviv.
