Nicodemus (April 5, 2015 Kingston-August 26, 1996) was a Jamaican personality.

His most well known albums: Tales of the Lovelorn & Necromantic... Resurrection Mary, She Love It In The Morning and A Nice Up The Dance. His related genres: Dancehall and Reggae.

Nicodemus, whose real name was Cecil Wellington, was born on April 5, 1957, in Kingston, Jamaica. He became one of the most popular and influential dancehall DJs in the 1980s, known for his humorous and creative lyrics as well as his unique style of toasting. In addition to his successful albums, Nicodemus collaborated with many other artists, including Beenie Man and Sugar Minott. He was also a regular performer at sound system sessions and live shows throughout Jamaica and the rest of the world. Unfortunately, Nicodemus passed away on August 26, 1996, at the age of 39, from complications related to diabetes. Despite his short career, his legacy as a pioneer of dancehall and reggae music continues to live on.
