Akira Ifukube (May 31, 1914 Kushiro-February 8, 2006 Meguro) a.k.a. "John Williams" of Japan, Ifukube or Ifukube Akira was a Japanese film score composer and composer.

His albums include Gojira, Varan the Unbelievable (Daikaiju Baran), Ido Zero Daisakusen, Godzilla vs. Mothra, Godzilla, War Of The Gargantuas, Frankenstein Conquers the World, Godzilla vs. Destroyer, Godzilla Vs. Akira Ifukube is best known for his work on the music for the iconic Japanese film series, Godzilla. He composed the score for the first Godzilla film in 1954 and went on to create the scores for many of the subsequent Godzilla films. In addition to his work on film scores, Ifukube also composed numerous pieces of classical music, including symphonies and concertos. He was a professor of composition at the Tokyo College of Music for many years and was a recipient of many awards for his contributions to Japanese music, including the Order of the Rising Sun. Despite his success, Ifukube remained humble throughout his life and often credited his success to the natural beauty of his hometown in northern Japan, which he felt was a major source of inspiration for his music.
