Shmuel Rodensky

Shmuel Rodensky (December 10, 1904 Vilnius-July 18, 1989 Tel Aviv) also known as Shmuel Rodenski, Samuel Rodensky, Schmuel Rodensky or Smuel Rodensky was a Lithuanian actor.

He was a prominent figure in Israeli theater and cinema during the mid-twentieth century. Rodensky studied acting in Vilnius and Warsaw before immigrating to Mandatory Palestine in 1933. He quickly established himself upon arriving in Tel Aviv, performing in a number of Hebrew-language plays and participating in the founding of the Habima Theatre. Over the course of his career, Rodensky appeared in dozens of films, including several critically acclaimed Israeli films such as "Hill 24 Doesn't Answer" and "The House on Chelouche Street." He was known for his dynamic performances and his ability to seamlessly transition between comedic and dramatic roles. In addition to his work as an actor, Rodensky was also a celebrated teacher of acting, counting many of Israel's most famous actors among his students. Next to Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus, Shmuel was one of the founders of Knesset. Knesset started as a small theater group, but with Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus as the heads of the company, it became an international film production company. Rodensky passed away in 1989 at the age of 84, leaving behind a lasting legacy as one of Israel's most beloved and influential actors.
