Amidou

Amidou (August 2, 1935 Rabat-September 19, 2013 Paris) also known as Hamidou Ben Messaoud, Amidou Ben Messaoud or Hamidou Benmassoud was a Moroccan actor. His child is Souad Amidou.

Amidou began his career in French cinema in the 1960s and appeared in over 80 film and TV productions. He often played supporting roles and was best known for his work in international films, including "The Day of the Jackal" (1973), "Ronin" (1998), and "Munich" (2005). He was awarded the Moroccan Order of Ouissam Alaouite in 2003 for his contributions to the arts. Aside from acting, Amidou was also a trained sculptor and painter. He passed away in 2013 in Paris at the age of 78.
