Christian Kayßler

Christian Kayßler (June 14, 1898 Wrocław-March 10, 1944 Blankenfelde) also known as Christian Kayssler was a Polish actor. He had three children, Christine Kayßler, Maria Kayßler and Martin Kayßler.

Christian Kayßler began his acting career in Hamburg before moving to Berlin in 1920. He quickly gained popularity and became one of the most prominent actors of the German stage and film during the 1920s and 1930s. Kayßler was known for his versatility and ability to perform both comedic and dramatic roles with equal skill.

Throughout his career, Christian Kayßler appeared in more than 100 films, including some of the most important productions of the German film industry during the Weimar Republic, such as "Metropolis" (1927) and "M" (1931) directed by Fritz Lang. In 1933, after the National Socialists came to power, Kayßler left Germany due to his opposition to their ideology.

He moved to Switzerland, where he continued to act on stage and in films. Despite his status as an emigrant, Kayßler continued to work and gained international recognition for his performances. He tragically died in 1944 at the age of 46, while working on a film in Blankenfelde, Germany. Despite his relatively short career, Christian Kayßler is remembered as one of the greatest actors of the German cinema of his time.
