Natasha Schneider was born in Riga, Latvia and later moved to Moscow, Russia where she began her music career playing keyboards and providing vocals for the rock band, "Pogrom" in the late 1970s. In 1989, she formed the band "Eleven" with her husband, Alain Johannes, and drummer Jack Irons. The band released several albums and toured extensively, gaining a dedicated following.

Schneider was also known for her work as a film and television composer, working on projects such as "The People vs. Larry Flynt," "Donnie Darko," and "Westworld." She also acted in several films, including "Love and a .45" and "Four Rooms."

In 2006, Schneider was diagnosed with cancer and continued to work on music and film projects while undergoing treatment. She passed away in July 2008 at the age of 52.
