Robert Chandran

Robert Chandran (May 31, 1950 Mumbai-January 7, 2008 Riau) was a Singaporean businessperson.

He was the founder and Group Chairman of Chemoil Energy Limited, a leading global supplier of marine fuel. Chandran started his career in shipping at the age of 17 and worked his way up through the industry before starting his own company in 1981. Under his leadership, Chemoil grew to become one of the world's largest independent suppliers of marine fuel, with a presence in over 30 countries. Chandran was also known for his philanthropic work and was actively involved in supporting education and healthcare initiatives in Singapore and India. He was awarded the Public Service Star in 2007 in recognition of his contributions to society. Chandran passed away in 2008 while on a business trip to Indonesia.
