Ilja Zeljenka (December 21, 1932 Bratislava-July 13, 2007 Bratislava) was a Slovak film score composer.

His albums: String Quartets, Contemporary Slovak Organ, Musica Slovaca: Cello Works and Slovak Cello Music.

Ilja Zeljenka was born in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia) in 1932. He studied composition and music theory at the Bratislava Conservatory, graduating in 1957. Zeljenka continued his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague under the renowned composer Alois Hába.

In addition to his film scores, Zeljenka composed extensively for orchestras, ensembles, and solo instruments. His works are characterized by their modernist style and experimental techniques. He was a pioneering figure in Slovak contemporary music, and was awarded numerous honors throughout his career, including multiple awards for his film scores.
