Ján Popluhár

Ján Popluhár (September 12, 1935 Bernolákovo-March 6, 2011 Bernolákovo) a.k.a. Jan Popluhar was a Slovak personality.

He was a professional football player who played as a defender for Slovakian club Inter Bratislava and Czechoslovakia national team. Popluhár made his international debut for Czechoslovakia in 1955 and went on to represent his country in 62 matches, including the 1962 World Cup in Chile.

Throughout his career, Popluhár was known for his defensive skills, including his tackling and heading ability. He also scored several important goals for both club and country.

After retiring from playing football, Popluhár became a successful coach, leading Inter Bratislava to the Slovakian league title in 1980. He also served as assistant coach for the Czechoslovakia national team during the 1990 World Cup in Italy.

Popluhár was widely regarded as one of the greatest Slovak footballers of all time and was inducted into the Slovak Football Hall of Fame in 2002.

Króner was primarily a stage actor, performing in numerous productions at the Slovak National Theater in Bratislava. He also had a successful film career, appearing in more than 60 movies. Króner was known for his versatility as an actor, taking on a range of roles from comedy to drama. He received numerous accolades over the course of his career, including the title of National Artist of Czechoslovakia in 1985. Additionally, Króner was an active participant in the Slovak national movement and supported the country's independence from Czechoslovakia.
