He began his music studies at the Geneva Conservatory before continuing his education at the Paris Conservatory. After his successful debut, Marcello Viotti was invited to conduct at major opera houses and symphony orchestras around the world. He was particularly known for his interpretations of French and Italian operas, and his recordings of works by Verdi, Puccini, and Bizet received critical acclaim.
