Bárbaro Rivas (December 4, 1893 Petare-March 12, 1967 Caracas) was a Venezuelan painter.
He began his artistic education at the Escuela de Bellas Artes de Caracas at the age of 17. Later on, he continued his studies in Madrid and Paris, where he was influenced by the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist movements.
Rivas was part of the group of Venezuelan artists known as the "School of Caracas," who sought to create a national art based on Venezuelan identity and culture. His work is characterized by the use of bright colors and loose, fluid brushstrokes inspired by the landscapes of his homeland.
