Marty Dieckmeyer is an American bassist who is most known for his contributions to the band, Hüsker Dü. He joined the Minneapolis-based punk rock band in 1983, replacing their former bassist, Greg Norton. Dieckmeyer played with Hüsker Dü until their breakup in 1987.
Prior to joining Hüsker Dü, Dieckmeyer played in various local bands in the Los Angeles area. After the band's breakup, he continued to play in other groups, including the band Vertigo, which was formed by former Hüsker Dü drummer, Grant Hart.
Dieckmeyer has also worked in film and television as a composer, music supervisor, and sound editor. Some of his credits include working on the score for the film "The Keep" and the TV series "Carnivàle".
