William Hanna

William Hanna (July 14, 1910 Melrose-March 22, 2001 North Hollywood) otherwise known as William Denby Hanna, Bill Hanna, Denby Williams, William Denby "Bill" Hanna or Bill was an American animator, film director, television producer, film producer, television director, cartoonist, screenwriter, voice actor and film score composer. He had two children, Bonnie Jean Hanna and David William Hanna.

His most important albums: Hanna-Barbera Cartoon Sound Fx, The Best of Hanna-Barbera: Tunes from the Toons, Hanna-Barbera Classics, Hanna-Barbera's Pic-A-Nic Basket of Cartoon Classics and Top Cat.

William Hanna is best known for co-founding the animation studio Hanna-Barbera Productions with Joseph Barbera in 1957. Together they created some of the most iconic cartoon characters of all time, including Tom and Jerry, The Flintstones, Yogi Bear, Scooby-Doo, and The Jetsons. Many of these cartoons are still beloved and watched by audiences today.

Prior to co-founding Hanna-Barbera, Hanna worked as an animator and director at several other animation studios, including MGM, where he created Tom and Jerry with Barbera. During World War II, Hanna served in the army and created training films for soldiers.

Hanna received numerous awards throughout his career, including seven Academy Awards and eight Emmy Awards for his work in animation. In 1996, he also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contributions to the entertainment industry.
