Marc McDermott (July 24, 1881 Goulburn-January 5, 1929 Glendale) otherwise known as Marcus McDermott or Marc MacDermott was an Australian actor.
McDermott began his career on stage in Australia before moving to the United States and transitioning to film. He appeared in over 180 films, including "The Birth of a Nation" (1915) and "The Mark of Zorro" (1920). McDermott also worked behind the scenes in film production, writing, directing and producing. He founded his own production company, the Marc McDermott Players, in 1913. Unfortunately, McDermott's life and career were cut short when he died of pneumonia at the age of 47. Despite his early death, he left a lasting impact on the film industry and remains one of the most significant Australian actors of the silent era.
