He had five children, Georgiana de Moraes, Luciana de Moraes, Susana de Moraes, Pedro de Moraes and Maria de Moraes.
Vinicius de Moraes is remembered as one of the most renowned Brazilian artists of his time. Born into a family of intellectuals, he began his career as a diplomat and later transitioned to writing and poetry. In the early 1950s, he was part of a group of artists who founded the Brazilian musical style known as Bossa Nova, writing some of its most iconic songs such as "The Girl from Ipanema" and "Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars".
