Newton Prado (May 19, 1925 Itu, São Paulo-October 4, 2000 São Paulo) was a Brazilian actor and writer.

He was one of the pioneers of the Brazilian soap opera and starred in numerous TV shows and movies throughout his career. Prado also wrote over 20 plays and was a member of the Brazilian Academy of Letters. In addition to his work in the arts, he was an active voice in promoting human rights and was a member of Amnesty International. Prado was honored with numerous awards and recognition for his contributions to Brazilian culture and society.
