Born in 1922 in Leeds, England, Alan Cooke began his acting career on the stage in the 1940s before transitioning to television and film. He appeared in numerous television shows, including "The Avengers" and "Z Cars," and also had roles in several films, such as "The Dirty Dozen" and "Oh! What a Lovely War." Cooke was also an accomplished director, directing episodes of "Doctor Who" and "The Bill" among other shows.
