He was best known for his roles as the villain in films including "Braveheart" and "The Saint," and for his portrayal of the character of Davros in the long-running TV series "Doctor Who." Tierney began his acting career as a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company in the 1960s, before transitioning to screen work in the 1970s.
