Ian Curtis (July 15, 1956 Stretford-May 18, 1980 Macclesfield) a.k.a. Curtis, Ian or Ian Kevin Curtis was a British singer, musician and songwriter. He had one child, Natalie Curtis.

Genres he performed include Post-punk, Gothic rock, New Wave and Punk rock.

Ian Curtis was best known as the lead singer and lyricist of the influential band Joy Division, which he formed in 1976 with friends from college. The band released two highly acclaimed albums, "Unknown Pleasures" and "Closer," before Curtis tragically took his own life at the age of 23.
