Norodom Sihanouk

Norodom Sihanouk (October 31, 1922 Royal Palace, Phnom Penh-October 15, 2012 Beijing) was a Cambodian film director, politician, actor and author. He had seven children, Norodom Sihamoni, Norodom Buppha Devi, Norodom Ranariddh, Norodom Narindrapong, Norodom Chakrapong, Norodom Arunrasmy and Norodom Yuvaneath.

Sihanouk served as the King of Cambodia from 1941 to 1955 and again from 1993 to 2004. He also served as the Prime Minister of Cambodia several times throughout his career, as well as holding other top government positions.

Sihanouk was known for his complex political relationships with numerous world powers during his lifetime, including France and the United States. He was also a prolific writer and director, creating over 50 films throughout his life.

Despite his controversial political career, Sihanouk was widely regarded as a unifying figure in Cambodia and was credited with helping his country make significant progress in the areas of education, health, and infrastructure during his reign.
