He died in myocardial infarction.

Barker began his directing career in the early days of silent films, quickly establishing himself as a talented and versatile filmmaker. He directed over 140 films in various genres throughout his career, including Westerns, dramas, comedies, and thrillers. Some of his most notable works include "The Mark of Zorro" (1920), "The Love Light" (1921), and "The Show Off" (1926).
