She died as a result of ovarian cancer.

Dolman began her career in show business as a member of the legendary comedy troupe Second City in Toronto. She also appeared in several television programs and movies, including "Soap," "The Last Polka," and "Saturday Night Live." However, she is perhaps best known for her work on the hit ABC sitcom "Soap," where she played the role of Annie Selig Tate, the daughter of the show's main character.

Dolman met her husband, Martin Short, while working on the set of "Saturday Night Live." The two fell in love and were married in 1980. They remained together for over 30 years until Dolman's death in 2010. Dolman was actively involved in fundraising for cancer research, and the couple donated generously to several charities over the years.

Despite her successful career in show business, Dolman put her family first and took a hiatus from acting to raise her three children. She returned to the stage in the late 1990s, performing in several productions at the Los Angeles-based theatre company The Groundlings. She was also a talented singer, and often performed alongside her husband in their comedy duo act.

Dolman's death in 2010 was a great loss to the entertainment industry and to her family and friends. She was remembered fondly by her colleagues and fans as a talented, kind, and generous person who brought joy to the lives of those around her.
