Silvera is best known for her role as Edith Artois in the British sitcom 'Allo 'Allo!, which ran from 1982 to 1992. Before her successful turn in 'Allo 'Allo!, she had a long career in acting, primarily in the theatre. She made her film debut in the 1948 British film 'Vice Versa'. In the 1950s and 1960s, she appeared in a number of television shows, including 'Hancock's Half Hour', 'The Benny Hill Show', and 'The Avengers'. She also appeared in several West End productions, including 'The Boy Friend' and 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum'.
